This guide has been designed by a Librarian specifically to help you explore the education literature on two topics:
1. Start with one journal (either Reading Teacher or Language Arts)
2. Be as specific as possible with your words (search for "read alouds" instead of "Vocabulary Development")
3. Look for articles that are both (1) relevant and (2) recent.
4. Read the abstract. If it's good, find & read the articles that appear in the References/Bibliography. If it's terrible, go back to the results list and try again.
5. If you don't like anything in the results list, try different words ("reading and preschoolers" or "reading and elementary students")
6. If you still don't see anything you like, try a different source using the same search words and process.
7. If you still don't see anything you like, ask a Librarian!
