CHE 230: Chemical Analysis: Writing your Lab Report

This guide includes resources helpful to students working on the CHE 230 Library Assignment

The Formal Lab Report

You've likely already figured out that experiments and results are often communicated through Lab Reports. The lab report is where you write exactly what occurred in the experiment, under exactly what conditions, and clearly discuss the results and their relation to your hypothesis.

Be clear and specific. You are not only communicating your results to your professor, you are sharing your experiment with the scientific community to avoid future repetition and redundancy.

Your Assignment for Today

Today we will be reviewing Endnote and other citation-focused resources before you get started on writing your formal lab report.
