Library DIY: For Faculty Members: Course Reserve

.

Q: I would like to put something on course reserve for my students to use.

Course reserves are a very easy process that allows every student in a class to access material while they are in the library. Use course reserve for print resources for your course that you would like all students to have access to.

If you'd like to put a print resource on course reserve you can request that items be placed on course reserve with the form to the right. Simply download it, fill it out, and submit it at the front desk or email it to Alex Julio, julioal@westminster.edu

Most EBooks are naturally on ‘course reserve’ meaning that the eBook we have can typically be used by multiple users at once or throughout the day. If you would like us to purchase an eBooks that you know your class will be using, email Jamie Kohler kohlerjp@westminster.edu . If it is available through one of our EBook subscriptions, we will likely buy it. Purchasing a soon to be heavily used EBook before it is ‘checked out’ saves us some money.

If you are using an article that is electronically available, you may link to the record in WISE or upload the PDF to your D2L course page to share it with your students.

Please refer to the documents on the right to better understand how copyright law and fair use may impact your ability to share copyrighted resources with your students.
