Library DIY: For Faculty Members: Institutional Accounts

.

Q: What library resources do I need an account for? How do I access these resources?

The following resources have special access information.

If you have trouble with any of these resources, please contact John Garrison at garrisjc@westminster.edu

Chronicle of Higher Education: The college maintains a subscription to the Chronicle. When you are on campus, you should be able to access the website and view any articles. When off campus, you should use this link and sign in with your WC username and password to obtain full assess.

NAXOS Music App: Access the Naxos website on campus or log in via ezproxy . Then you should be able to create an account by clicking on "Playlists" on the menu near the top of the screen. Find "Student/Member Playlists" at the top of the body of the next page.  On that row, find "Login/Sign up" to the right and click "Sign up". Once you have created an account, you can download the Naxos music library app via the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store and sign into your account.

SciFinder/Methods Now: These chemistry focused resources require a user to register for and create an account. Email John Garrison at garrisjc@westminster.edu for instructions and access.

Streaming Video

The Library offers two streaming video services. These offer popular and classic movies as well as documentaries that you can show in your classes and on campus.

Kanopy offers over 30,000 movies for streaming. Browse or search for a movie, and click it to submit a request form. Movies will be available for one year from the date of purchase. Kanopy is IP linked, so please use it on campus to request material for Westminster.

Swank hosts feature films, documentaries, and television shows that can be purchased and streamed from their website. If there's any material on SWANK that you're interested in using in your teaching, please contact Jamie Kohler at kohlerjk@westminster.edu

*Please note that although the process can be quick, you won't have immediate access to a film. The turnaround may take 1-2 business days.*

Please contact Jamie Kohler, kohlerjk@westminster.edu for more info.
