Information For Faculty: Welcome!

About McGill

Here we might say something like: "We're a library but we like to think of outselves as so much more!" but even we're not that cheesy.

So here's some things we have and stuff we can help you with:

  • The LIS Helpdesk is here. It's the place to go (or call. or email.) if any technology breaks or if you want to learn about what technology resources are available to you! Here's the best ways to reach out:

  • We have lots of knowledge and things. So many books & journals, in the library and online as well as access to more databases than you can shake a stick at.

    • Our favorite things to buy are things that we know will be used by our faculty & students. So if you know a great resource that will be super helpful in your class, don’t hesitate to use the “Resource Request Form”.

    • If you’d looking for something a little less temporary (or just an article or two) we can borrow it from another library through ILL.

  • We're a great place to be. You’ll find that many faculty reserve space in the library for a class period or two while their students do research.

  • If you want your students to do research (and be better at it!) let us know. We love partnering with course instructors to develop & teach information literacy class sessions!
