• Authors and Illustrators in the Scholastic Book Club
• Bookriot's list of "20 of the Very Best Children's Authors"
• Reading Rocket's "75 Authors/Illustrators Everyone Should Know"
• BooksInTheClassroom.com (Carol Hurst's Children's Literature site)

Depending on how "famous" your author or illustrator is, you may have a very easy or rather difficult time finding reliable biographical information.

• Brittanica Online
• Wise (Westminster's library catalog)
• Reading Rocket's Author Interviews
